...

I remember Sande

Hangin' on Airport Road

Sharin' a bottle

Cause we got nowhere else to go

Gettin crazy

Wait till the sun falls down

Now we're lost here

I'm King of the city when there's no one around

...

And now the moment pass so quickly

It's just a picture in my mind

The vivid colors slowly fading

Scenes of the movie I rewind

- Faster Faster -

...

Long legs step in rhythm

Walk the walk

Talk the talk

So hot

Still smokin'

Don't need an X, girl, to mark the spot

She got a lot

More than I need

I'm com'n out shoot'n

She's aimin' to please

I'm down on my knees

- Inside -

...

She drinks wine

On Sunday afternoons

She likes my vine

And starin' at the moon

I lose my fingers

Deep inside her

Want to light a fire in her room

Bedroom

Oh she is fine

Gotta find a way inside tonight

- Gone -

...

I was unaware of the danger

Unaware of the pain

Unconcerned by the friction

I was caught in the curves of her frame

Now I'm here and I'm all alone

What did I do?

Ah, no, no

I got a thing for you

Can my impulse be wrong?

Cause all that you do

Tells me you're gone

Long gone

- Low -

...

And when I'm out here walkin'

You like my kinda shoes?

I'm out here steppin' rhythm

My psyche been abused

A one-two punch my image

Of how I'm supposed to be

I broke my inner picture

When I let go of me

That's why I think

You gotta get low

Before you get down

- Styrofoam Man -

...

Cause I'm easily broken

But I'm hard to destroy

I'm a Styrofoam Man

Not a little girl's toy

I patched myself back up

With toothpicks and twine

And I'm gonna live forever

Or until the end of time

I'm a Styrofoam Man

And I'm doin' just fine

Bend me, break me

You'll never change my mind

I'm a Styrofoam Man

But all my scattered pieces don't tell who I am

- 3 Wishes -

...

Oceans against land

Waves upon the sea

Water and the sand

And I wish I could be

A wave upon the sea

Oh I wish I could be

A wave upon the sea

Rollin' Rollin'

Oh I wish I could be

- A Minute -

...

I got a ring on my finger

I got a scar on my face

I got a picture of a dragon

Tattooed across my inner space

I got a warrant in my home town

Ain't got no time to fuck around

My heart is made of black leather

My story covered in pain

I got a spike in my psyche

I got a chain on my brain

I got a warrant in my home town

Ain't got no time to fuck around

- Satellite -

...

I've shut it out now

It doesn't even seem to bother me

But appearances can be deceiving

Maybe it's better this way

Might have been in a position to hurt me

Like it was for two and definitely you back in the day

So that's okay, just stay away

Don't call, don't write

Don't miss your satellite

Don't worry, I didn't turn out just like you

I'm here, you're not

I guess it don't mean a lot

But I think I understand

When I'm starin' into the bottom of a bottle

- Naysayer -

...

And I’m a fool to follow my feelings

Fool to believe that a dream could still come true

But at least I got a reason

Something to believe in

Something to pursue

Tell me I’m wrong

If I should falter would a smile cross your face?

This ain’t competition

I’m, just livin

Livin for the day

- Main Event -

...

So, I'm standin at a crossroads

Got a sign says "Soul for Sale"

Cause I don't believe in Heaven

And I don't believe in Hell

Understand that I ain't tryin' to judge

or profess to know

Every man's gotta find his piece of mind

When the Sun hangs low

Maybe I'm a wise man

Or maybe I'm just blind

Well the Main Event is on and it's on the line

- Ride -

Through the Garden of Wicked

Scott said he wanted to run

He lost his head in a needle

He lost the ball in the Sun

The one he chased was a friend of mine

I used to know her so well

She took me high, she took me low

She took me round to the outskirts of Hell

She took me rollin, up and down and round

and over the other side

She took me rollin, rollin, rollin

yeah she took me for a ride

The day they did her in

A scar on sweet September

The shadow's made a grin

- Nicki -

...

Was there ever anything I could have done

To make you change your mind?

Didn't you know were weren't the only one

with troubles in your life?

Come back Nicki

- Maybe Paradise -

...

She said, "lets go for a ride"

Sun's going down on highway 49

I got a bag and a bottle of white wine

We just might find paradise if you come with me tonight

And the wind blows

Her car windows are down

And the prarie rose

And our shadows intermingling on the ground

So open your eyes

And see what is moving me

- Your Fool -

...

I hope you will remember

I hope that you're aware

You're the one who lifts me

When I'm in despair

I need you

I'm not afraid to say

I'm not ashamed to show you

Come whatever may

So tell me that you'll always be

the one who makes my fantasies come true

And should the heavens crumble down upon us

I'll always be your fool

- Stars -

I've been thinking about yesterday again.

And I wonder, is it ever gonna end?

Can you tell me, will I ever settle down?

Can't stop spinning, well this world goes round and round

...

For a moment, thought I saw you

In the corner of my eye

Could it be? Did I miss you girl?

Chasin stars across the midnight sky

Dirty little sexy ditty; just a quick recording to get the idea down and share it with my bandmates. This is just after I bought an Ibanez bass guitar and I had a ton o fun layin down the bass tracks on this funk groove. Drum tracks I programmed are super basic, Dale plays it much better live. Just good fun shit.

I wrote this song in 1995 or so in memory of my friend, and sister-in-law, Nicki. I finally recorded it in 2007 at my wife's behest. It was recorded in my livingroom mostly on my Roland VS2000. The production is good but I could have spent more time on the vocals tracks, which were recorded in my bedroom closet.

Damn near complete; someday I will get around to re-recording the final solo, which isn't great. Recorded on my Roland VS2000. It's a bit auto-biographical and It took a lot to sing that I don't beleive in Heaven or Hell. It's one thing to have doubts but quite another to write a song and sing out that you've abandoned faith in religion. In the middle of Main Event, good and evil go at it 12 rounds...

I was thinking one day about how addicted Scott Weiland was and how he threw away being in one of the best rock bands of the 90's for drugs. I decided to write about it and also introspect my own less controlling addictions. Idea stage recording; just a quick recording to get the idea down and share it with my bandmates. VERY VERY ROUGH!

Live recording of the band I was in at the time, Road Head, with dubbed vocal tracks in my bedroom closet and Greg overdubbed the solo after the fact. I really like this song. It fucking rocks. I would like to make a refined recording of it. I'm a fan of truthfull songs: "Can't you see that we're out of control?". Dale is going to town on the drums.

Clearly post 9/11/2001 sentiments boiling to the surface. I, like many, was very pissed off and wanted to lash out. I think I acheived it nicely. My bandmate and friend, Greg Rapaport and I collaborated on the structure and music, I played with a few different versions of the lyric until I found the simple something that said it all. Again, live recording with overdubbed vocals and solo from Greg, which fucking rocks.

I like this straight-on rock groove I created. Greg crafted the verse pattern, which is perfectly complimentary to the main riff. I have changed the chorus on this song. The new title is "Bullets". Another RoadHead live recording with overdubbed vocal.

Another band of me, Greg, Dale and <fill in temporary bass player here>, Co-Ax. We recorded most of this in Greg's basement though I recorded my guitar tracks at home and the female voice in a studio where I work. Greg did a nice job with the production and I think my vocals are decent on this track.

One of the first songs I ever recorded when I first bought my Tascam MKII 4-track cassette recorder in my first home studio in North Dakota. The producion is lacking but not too bad for a guy in his basement with meager equipment and a drum machine. I think the song is good. It has pop appeal. I could redo this song in a more contemporary style I and think it would hold up.

A sappy love song I wrote and recorded in one afternoon. Also recorded on my Tascam MKII 4-track cassette recorder in my bedroom. This time in New York. I had no bass guitar at the time so I eq'ed my acoustic guitar with all the highs rolled off. The first version I "played" a sock filled with pocket change to feign a tamborine. I re-recorded the solo years later. I like it better now. I think I could redo this song with better vocals, but I probably won't.

I no longer care for this song very much. I wrote it when I first moved to New York as a way to emote loneliness and missing my friends and bandmates back home. Now, when I listen to the lyrics it sounds contrived and it rubs me the wrong way. Plus there is plenty of evident off-key singing which I cringe at. I should probably remove this song but I like the beginning. Again recorded on my old Tascam MKII 4-track cassette recorder in my bedroom.

There is out of key singing on this song but I still like it. WTF?! It's the sentiment that I like about this song. It's pussified but I don't care. It takes me somewhere when I listen to it. I also like the simple and poignant acoustic guitar solo. I think the vocal and guitar compliment each other on this track.

I'm baaaaaack! I finally dusted off the old website and did some tweaking to my little a cyber playground to make sure it looks cool under the latest versions of both IE, and Firefox. No, I am not a MAC guy, so I don't know what it looks like in Safari. But I'll assume the shit looks H O T. I've picked up a few new tricks since I initially created this page.

My plan is to post most of my older music. I've finally bought a house and I'm working on building my home studio. When it is complete I WILL be recording my album, Thermal. Until then, check out my old material if you like. Most of it was created on a 4-Track cassette recorder in my livingroom or bedroom and digitized. The newer tracks were recorded on a Roland VS2000 and are far more polished. Thanx for stopping by. Keep rockin, Skee

Happy Mother Day MoFos! I got this $hit cookin yo! I spent many hours this weekend on JeffSkee.com and it's hummin in both IE & Firefox and playing tunes to boot. I had to seriously hunt high and low to find some recordings of some of the old tracks but in the end it all worked out. It is good to listen to my old material, much of it is not that great but kinda like an old flame, you didn't marry them but you still had some fun and a few have a special place in your black leather heart.

People who are not recording musicians will never be able to truly appreciate the hours of work that goes into creating something that sums up to be 3 or 4 minutes of audio. It's heart and soul; emotion and touchpoint but it is also math, precision, and audio engineering. When one of these is lacking the entire thing falls short of its potential. I have mad respect for the professional musicians of this world; Envy. There is so much to a song. When it all come together it seems effortless but the opposite is true. I hope to make more new music soon. It will be better.
